From mid-September to mid-December, take advantage of your stay at La Terre d’Or and enjoy my truffle cooking workshops for gourmets during which I will guide you in the discovery of the Burgundy truffle.

La Terre d’Or is ideally located, on the hills overlooking Beaune, a 2 minute drive (or a 15 minute walk) from the historic city center. On the edge of a pine tree forest, you will enjoy an unforgettable view over the old Beaune city and its surrounding vineyards. Vincent and Jean-Louis will welcome you in Les Tilleuls (The Lime Trees), a contemporary house built up with authentic and natural materials, full of light and warmth (5 prestige rooms listed in the Michelin guide). You will enjoy the spacious living room with its large fire place, the bright lounge with its piano, the terrace over the swimming pool, the flower gardens created and maintained by Christine, and the exceptional natural cave with its Jacuzzi.
The holiday cottages Les Pins (The Pine Trees) and Les Lilas (The Lilacs), two charming traditional winemaker houses, will welcome you in their rustic lounge with their generous volumes: exposed timber frame, walls made of lime and hemp, soil made of traditional stones and tiles. The kitchen allows an interesting autonomy for two couples or for a family.
Activities at La Terre d’Or: Burgundy wine tasting in the natural cave below the house, courses on the Burgundy wines and their history, jacuzzi and relaxation in the natural cave. It will be a pleasure for us to guide you in the discovery of the Burgundy region with her prestigious names but also with its more secret places; we can organize day long tours, half a day tours, or 3 to 5 days turnkey tours.
New: Claire will share with you her passion for truffles: truffle-hunting, cooking classes, and truffle cuisine tasting.
Château de Chamilly
Burgundy Truffle (Tuber uncinatum) and Wine
Chamilly - a « pearl » in the heart of Mercurey (Burgundy) - is the home of the Desfontaine family. For over 150 years the tradition of fine wine has been passed from one generation to the other, with a passion for excellence.
Driving through the gatehouse of Château de Chamilly takes you back 500 years ago. You are in the large courtyard of a castle fortified during the 17th-century with a 14th-century tower.
Now, Véronique Desfontaine and her sons are in charge of a vineyard which stretches over 16 hectares. The château's vineyards spreads over three villages : Saint-Gilles and Chamilly (granting the « Burgundy Appellation Contrôlée ») and Mercurey (granting the « Mercurey Appellation Contrôlée »).
Although anybody can make wine, everybody do not produce quality wine. Those who produce such quality wine will be rightfully awarded. At the estate, we believe that the quality of a wine always begin with the quality of grapes. Everything had thus been done in our vineyards to produce grapes with a maximum of character and style.

Two different workshops
Half a day workshop (about 3h30)
lunch session: 9:00 welcoming coffee; 9:15 Truffles – basic knowledge (the various species, their ecology, their main differences, how and where to buy them); 10:00 to 12:30 gourmet truffle cuisine participatory course and wine-truffle tasting session.
Afternoon session: 14:30 welcoming coffee; 14:45 Truffles – basic knowledge (the various species, their ecology, their main differences, how and where to buy them); 15:30 to 17:00 gourmet truffle cuisine participatory course and wine-truffle tasting session.
Full day workshop (about 7 hours)
9:00 Welcoming coffee and presentation of the workshop; 9:30 Truffle hunting; 10:15 Truffles – basic knowledge (the various species, their ecology, their main differences, how and where to buy them); 11:00 to 16:00 Gourmet truffle cuisine participatory course and wine-truffle tasting session.
For groups only, and on demand, the workshop may include the preparation of a dish with the famous Italian White Truffle (Tuber magnatum). Rate variable, depending on the Truffle dailyprice.
